Will Ronaldo's arrival be enough for Man United to win the EPL title?

It’s been almost a decade since the 2012/2013 season, when Manchester United managed to win their last Premier League trophy, and the Red Devils expect to compete for the title once again after a strong transfer window, one which was marked by the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford.

The Portugal international left Juventus and made the switch back to England, but is his signing enough to inspire Manchester United to Premier League success?

Despite also acquiring the services of Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho this summer, there are doubts about whether Manchester United’s squad is complete enough to catch Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea in the title race.

Gary Neville’s doubts

Following Romelu Lukaku’s return to Chelsea, Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville questioned whether Manchester United can compete for the Premier League title without a world-class striker in the squad.

“I’m struggling to understand why Manchester United aren’t going that extra step this transfer window,” Neville said on Sky Sports last week.

"Why are they not going in for Harry Kane this week? Because if I think Harry Kane joined Manchester United you could get up to 90-95 points, without him [they won’t].

“They’re going to have to buy a centre forward at some point. Why not get the man now and give Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] that impetus to get to that 90-point [target]. I don’t think they can with just Sancho and Varane.”

Despite rumours of a potential departure this summer, Kane took to social media to announce that he is staying at Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Meanwhile, Manchester United signed Serie A’s top scorer last season (29 goals), and it remains to be seen whether a 36-year-old Ronaldo can lead them to the much-coveted Premier League title.

I don’t think so…if the manager’s tactics aren’t good there will be no hope for title and also the players attitude to football

Fact, I don’t think he could play the same way he used to play before his exit to Madrid

Ooh yes…he style of play will change…now he will be playing as a striker not a winger as before

But you know the goat can’t stand still he always wants to change positions

Yeah…looking at his style with the old lady…he used to play as a striker which was good …but the defenders in England are hard as compare to those in seria A.

I think he should play as a winger which will help him to cut in from the left giving him more chances to score than only heading balls to score

Ronaldo makes them a contender. But then again, Manchester United was already considered a contender before his arrival, so I don’t think he’s making that much of a difference except the fact that he’s just bringing lots of hype.

Although Ronaldo is still Ronaldo, don’t get me wrong… he will have his moments!

But for me deɛ… Ɛyɛ kenken kwa :joy:
