Update: The Breakdown of all the population in each region in Ghana(2021)

The population and housing census results has been officially been declared by the Ghana Statistical Service. The Population of Ghana as at 2021 is 30.8 million. The breakdown population in each region is as follows

#1. Greater Accra

Greater tops the list with the region with the highest population. The total population is 5,446,237.

#2. Ashanti Region

Ashanti region is number two on the list with 5,432,485 persons.

#3. Eastern Region

Eastern region is the third highest populated region in Ghana with a population of 2,917,039.

#4. Central Region

Central region is number 4 on the list with 2,859,821 people.

#5. Northern Region

The biggest region in Ghana is number five on the list. It has a population of 2,310,943.

#6. Western Region
Takoradi and its environment had a population of 2,057,225.

#7. Volta Region

Volta region has a population of 1,649,523 as at 2021.

#8. Upper East

Upper East has increased in population as at the last census in 2021. The current population on the region is 1,301,221.

#9. Bono Region

Bono region is part of the new created regions formed out of the Brong Ahafo region. It has a population of 1,208,965

#10. Bono East

Bono East also has a population of 1,203,306

#11. Upper West

This region has quite a number of people. The current population stations at 904,695

#12. Western North

The population for this region is 880,855

#13. Oti Region

Oti region currently has 747,227 persons.

#14. North East

North East which is located in the Northern Part of the country has a population of 658,903

#15. Savannah Region

Savannah region was also formed out of the Volta region. It currently has a population of 649,627

#16. Ahafo Region

Ahafo region is currently the region with least population. The current population stands at 564,536.
