MTN rolls out new network codes

MTN has announced the addition of network codes after it received new blocks of numbers from the[National Communications Authority NCA).

The new network codes are: 059-7, 059-8, 059-9, 025-6 and 025-7. These new network codes add to the existing codes 024, 054, 055 and 059.

Commenting on the addition of the codes and block of numbers, the chief corporate services officer of MTN Ghana, Sam Koranteng, said their addition will help meet the needs of customers who require numbers for personal use, businesses, mobile money businesses as well as digital devices other than phones.

The new number block will also help MTN Ghana optimise its services with high-quality data, voice and mobile money services, Koranteng said.

“We are excited about these new blocks of numbers because it will facilitate the fulfilment of our belief that everybody deserves the benefit of a modern connected life, which starts with gaining access to a sim card that connects you to the network,” Koranteng said.

He urged customers acquiring the new numbers to ensure that they register their sims using valid documents as required by law.

Dynamic numbering

Abubakar Mohammed, the acting chief sales and distribution officer of MTN, said that the new numbers are available at all MTN service centres and connect shops across the country.

“Customers will enjoy the opportunity of a dynamic numbering service, where the system generates a list of random numbers for the customer to choose their preferred number.”

The public is advised and reminded to take note of the addition of the new network codes to the list of MTN codes and to accept them for all activities.

The format for making calls with the new block of numbers remains the same. To make a call or send an SMS, customers are required to add the relevant prefix to the number being dialled (eg, 025 7) followed by the customer’s unique number (for instance, 025 7 followed by 700

MTN considers itself as the network gaint in the telecommunications space in Ghana.
They choose to do anything which suits their whimps and caprice. They charge so much for the internet bundles, expensive call rates etc.
Always deteriorating the existing situations.
MTN… everywhere u go…

Mtn de3 what they are doing offlate de3, making changes to their system without any warning, I bet they’ve stop making scratch cards. I’m glad this one is out there like you will see n) the old codes wouldn’t be working

They are aren’t they , the telecommunications business is one we cannot do away with no matter how much we are been cheated.

MTN is always cheating and stealing ffrom customers to expand their tentacles. The network is actually a scam in terms of data bundle they offer. We suffer a lot here in Ghana because data is so expensive and bad. To hell with their new codes
