Man, 22, jailed six months over theft

The Juaso Circuit Court has sentenced a 22-year-old man, Kwame Gordon, to six months imprisonment for attempted theft.

The prosecutor, in the case, Chief inspector Peasah Birikorang, briefing the court, stated that the suspect sneaked into the home of the complainant, Kawadwo Nyamekye on 21st July 2021 at about 5:00 am at Tokwei in the Asante Akyem South District.

This was after Mr Nyamekye left the house to meet a friend travelling to Oda in the Eastern Region to give him money for some items he needed.

The suspect, noticing his absence, entered and ransacked the room but was busted in an attempt to flee the scene.

The complainant raised an alarm and he was apprehended and handed over to the Juaso Police with the help of the townfolk.

I think it’s a good sentence, most of the youth out there don’t want to work and earn legit money, they always want to take the easy way out. It’s good he was caught.

22 years, you have so much ahead of you in life, you are also energetic to work and gain some money but you decide to go into stealing. Quick cuts to money making will end you in prison. He comes back from the six months jail, he will learn his lesson and be of good behavior

I don’t know why people think resorting to stealing will make them survive the economic crises in the country.
If u go out and take something which does not belong to u and u are caught, either u are imprisoned or lynched by some angry :rage: youths. Let us all be careful… with this.
