The Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Murtala Mohammed has noted the Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong does not deserve the title ‘honourable’ because of his “reckless” utterances among other actions.
According to him, although it is possible for one to err, people with the title must note that “you are given that title because you are expected to behave a certain way.”
“For you to be honourable, you are expected to be absolutely honourable to be addressed as such,” he said.
His comment comes on the back of a video, circulating on social media, of Mr Agyapong speaking on his television station, Net 2 TV, as he verbally abused and threatened to attack Luv FMs’ journalist, Erastus Asare Donkor, for the journalistic work that he undertook during the recent shootings and killing incident at Ejura.
In the video, which circulated on Friday, July 9, Mr Agyapong, who is also the chairman of Parliament’s Defense Committee, said, if he were the President of Ghana, he would have ensured that the journalist, is beaten mercilessly.
Murtala Mohammed, who was commenting on Mr Agyapong’s utterances on Prime Morning on Joy Prime TV Thursday, July 15 said, “one of the reasons why I have insisted I don’t want to be addressed as honourable, is because the conduct of some of the so-called honourable members are absolutely dishonourable.”
