The FA Cup resumed with the second leg of Arsenal and Liverpool. The aggregate was 0-0. The first leg was quite disappointing after a 11 man Liverpool couldn’t score a 10 man Arsenal.
The game started with full force. Both sides were energized and hoping they could go to the finals.
However, a goal from Diego Jota at the 19th minute made the difference. Liverpool were up by 1 goal. Arsenal were now behind and trying their best to level the scores.
The second half sealed the fate of Arsenal. Diego Jota scored a brace at the 77th minute. Liverpool were able to win 2 - 0 total aggregate. They knocked out Arsenal to qualify for the finals.
Thomas Partey of Ghana was able to make it to the squad. He was on bench till the 75th minute. After a poor performance for the Black Stars, he returned hoping to redeem himself at Arsenal.
Turns out he was not needed. He was able to get a red card at the 90th minute. This got Ghanaians and Arsenal fans disappointed and thinking. His return was in vain.
A Ghanaian tweeted that he needs to come back to Ghana. His red card was a surprise and that means he won’t be able to play against Burnley in the PL. It was just a total disappointment.
