Ashgold, Inter Allies players, officials to face GFA investigative team on Thursday

AshantiGold SC duo of Seth Osei and Samed Mohammed will face the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Thursday, July 29, in connection with the ongoing investigations into the match-fixing and bettiing alllegations which characterised the Matchday 34 Ghana Premier League encounter between Ashantigold and Inter Allies at the Len Clay Sports Stadium on Saturday, July 17, 2021.

The two players and the team manager of Inter Allies,Aidoo Gee Ahmed, are to assist the FA in investigations into the alleged betting and match-fixing.

According to the GFA, the invitiation is part of an ongoing investigation to ascertain any violations of the relevant provisions of the GFA Code of Ethics 2019, the Premier League Regulations 2019 and the GFA Disciplinary Code 2019 in reference to the Match-day 34 tie.

Also to appear before the investigation team on Thursday are Mohammed Zakari and Richmond Lamptey of Inter Allies FC.

Meanwhile, the GFA has urged members of the public, the media, players and technical team members of other clubs to also send any evidence or information whatsoever (a statement, video, audio etc) connected to the match to assist the investigations through the GFA integrity Hotline and email.

The GFA investigative team must comprise of soldiers and police personnel. This way, they will know the gravity of their offense. Match fixing kills football games so we shouldn’t take this lightly with Ashgold and Allies.

Those found culpable must imprisoned, sanctioned or fined.
